Welcome to the Victoria-Saanich Vehicle Use Survey
The City of Victoria and District of Saanich are jointly undertaking a short survey to learn more about residents of the two municipalities and their travel patterns. The survey will gather information on how much residents drive their vehicles and how that compares to the provincial average. The survey will help us better understand residents’ vehicle usage, better estimate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and plan for the future.

The survey asks questions about your household characteristics, vehicles in your household (if any), and your vehicle usage. We would also like to follow up with you in one year to ask for a very quick update on your vehicle usage.

Your household was selected at random from all households in your municipality. A limited number of households receive an invitation to join the study, so the few minutes you take to participate will have a big impact. The survey is voluntary, but to truly represent all types of residents in your neighbourhood, we hope that you will choose to participate.
We are surveying randomly selected households across the City of Victoria and the District of Saanich. Only a limited number of invitations are sent out, so your participation is important.
The City and the District have contracted independent Victoria-based research firm R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. to conduct the survey.
Participants who complete the survey are eligible to enter a prize draw for an iPad. The prize draw is administered by R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. and will be drawn once the survey administration period is completed.
